On 8 May 2022, while the world was warming with the promise of summer, WHITEABBEY cast a shadow over the season with Trilogy, a chilling reimagining of the story of Snow White. Now, four years later, comes the next chapter. This time, WHITEABBEY turns to a story generations have grown up with Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. A tale wrapped in sugar and nostalgia. But beneath its candy-coated surface has always lingered something far more sinister.
For years, fans have speculated that Willy Wonka didn’t simply "allow" accidents to happen inside the factory. Instead, each child’s sticky end was a carefully orchestrated moral reckoning. WHITEABBEY takes that theory and pushes it further into the shadows. What if Wonka wasn’t just a moralist, but a victim? What if childhood bullying festered into a calculated revenge, carried out years later against the children of those responsible? And in this retelling, Willy is no longer a whimsical man, but a woman. A deliberate twist that sharpens the narrative edge, adding a layer of empowerment, menace, and unapologetic “girl power” to the myth.
The trilogy also weaves in echoes of A Nightmare on Elm Street, where the sins of one generation are visited upon the next. The result is a dark crossover in which fairy tale meets horror, nostalgia collides with vengeance, and innocence comes with a price. Of course, concept means nothing without the music to carry it. WHITEABBEY deliver three powerful metal anthems with a symphonic edge - bold, cinematic, and irresistibly catchy. Once again narrated by Graham McNulty, the songs even nod to the iconic 1971 film adaptation, transporting listeners back to that familiar world before twisting it into something far more chilling.
