Pitch Black Mentality is a band project from Bergen - Norway , founded by Frank Natås, in 2011.
An album was released in winter 2012/13 called The Pitch Black Reality. Recorded partly in Norway and Chile (drums and bass)

The music
Pitch Black Mentality plays contemporary melodic thrash metal, with clear influences from the bay area thrash bands of the 80's,
as well as the european scene - the sweedish metal scene from he 90's in particular. Our music is basically mix of the music we grew up with, shaping us as musicians.
The sound
We want to find the sweet spot between sounding brutally heavy , and at the same time build our songs with catchy melodic structures . We feel that a good melody is what drives every song, no matter how heavy or brutal. It gives the song an identity , keeping it interesting to the ear. If we ever had a mision with our music, it would be to serve metal music to those who are not metal fans, proving metal is for all. Because it is! We are not afraid to put sing along themes into any of our songs!
As for the heavy part, we went all in on this album, engaging Scandinavia's best metal studio, Fascination Street Studio with Tony Lindgren and Ricardo Borges on the mixing and mastering. That elevated our music considerably, making the sound really brutal, direct
and heavy.

Music was written during a timespan of 5 years from 2015 -2020. Some of the riffs are even considerably older.
All music is recorded in Bergen in private studios, Norway. Mixed by Ricardo Borges, masterd by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios, Sweden.
