Inspiration holte sich die Band grob bei einem ihrer liebsten Horrorfilme, "Maniac". So spielen Liebe, Leidenschaft, Grusel und Tod im Song eine Rolle.
"Maniac" wurde von Chris Curran im Reclaim Music Studio gemischt und gemastert. Für die Gestaltung des Singleartworks ist Argyle Goolsby von Blitzkid verantwortlich.
