12.09. THE SIXXIS - "Hollow Shrine" (Glassville Music/Soulfood)
produced by multi-Grammy award winning producer, David Bottrill
(Tool, Peter Gabriel, Muse, Mudvayne, Stone Sour, Placebo, The Smashing Pumpkins etc)

BIOG:
The SixxiS from Atlanta, GA (USA) are a rising force in the current rock scene. In 2013 they released their self-entitled EP produced by Grammy award winning producer, Malcolm Springer. With shows already under their belt, including shows with Adrian Belew Power Trio, Winger, and Buchcherry, The SixxiS toured extensively both in Europe and the US, being the support for amazing bands such as the legendary Wishbone Ash, and one of the biggest power trios around, The Winery Dogs (Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, Richie Kotzen). The band gained a massive amount of both press and support from the unsuspecting crowd that was blown away by seeing them for the first time. In 2014, the SixxiS were also invited by Mike Portnoy to join the Progressive Nation at Sea Cruise.

The band possess a very unique sound and has the skills to deliver in a live environment. The music presents a variety of different rock influences coated in a powerful, heavy and emotional shell of sound. Reminiscent of  Kings X, Rush, Muse, Soundgarden, System of a Down and Alice in Chains. All members of the band are professional musicians with degrees in their respective instruments. Vladdy (lead singer) also has a violin performance degree, and guitarist Cameron Allen recently won the internationally acclaimed Bend-Note Guitar Competition in Paris, France. Members of The SixxiS have individually performed with acts including: Mariah Carey, Jesse McReynolds, Vince Gill, Jennifer Nettles, Ledisi, Divinity Roxx, Ashton Jones (American Idol), Jennifer Holiday, Angie Stone.

The band have recently finished their first full length album produced by multi-Grammy award winning producer, David Bottrill (Tool, Peter Gabriel,  Muse, Mudvayne, Stone Sour, Placebo, The Smashing Pumpkins etc) and are set to release the album in September of 2014, along with a tour in Europe supporting prog rock giants Spock’s Beard.

Here are some of the things the press has been saying:

“These fellows combine ideas from 1970s progressive bands with the meat and muscle of underground guitar bands from the 1990s, and manage to come up a loud driving rock sound that is all their own.”  (Babysue.com)

“The Sixxis are a talented and entertaining rock band, blending heavy and alternative rock with (maybe) a dash of prog in a catchy melodic wrapper. The Sixxis have an inherent heavy character that melds with a lush texture. Some of this comes from the large and vigorous amount of riffage, but also from the vocal arrangements and touch of violin.”  (Dangerdog.com)

“Their performance was full of all of the nuances, solos, time changes, and breakdowns that you’d expect from the best progressive rock and metal groups.”  (Knac.com)
